She just placed first at The Burton Glory Daze in Trysil and Hemsedal and 6Th at the Norwegian Championships.

BETTY’s in Tahoe

With Mammoth mountain and the Volcom Peanut Butter & Rail Jam in sights, Randa loaded up the BETTY van, squealed out of the driveway, and hit the open road. Ahh, how we wish we could have cruised shotgun for this one. There are a lot of sweet zones to hit up on the way from Portland to California.

First stop, Tahoe.

It is so beautiful there!! the water, the mountains…maybe we do need a little drama in our lives.

Randa reported shots from the skate park in Truckee, Tahoe. It looks like they have a pretty nice little set-up out there and when I say little I mean big and cementy….

Randa continued her trip to Mammoth to compete in the Volcom Peanut Butter & Rail Jam. She had qualified by Taking 1st at their tour stop in Snoqualmie Washington.

BETTY signs CELIA MILLER!!!!

So, we have finally stopped throwing around confetti and screaming in the office because of excitement. We have signed Celia Miller!!

Celia is not only one of the nicest and cutest girls in snowboarding; she is also coming off a season of slaying it! I mean seriously slaying IT!

Most recently Celia was one of six pro riders invited to Whistler Blackcomb’s “If Ullr Was a Girl” competition. Earlier this month she was at June Mountain for Ms. Superpark, where her hand-plant shot not only makes the impossible look easier than slicing bread, but also got props from the hard to please, expert eyes, of Pat Bridges (Snowboarder Mag).

This season has also seen Celia throughout Colorado, Whistler, Vegas and Mammoth. When we caught up with her she was on her way down to Denver to skate the city park, and will be out to Mt. Hood this summer to coach the campers at Windell’s.

Her advice to other girls trying this whole pro snowboarder thing? “Don’t give up and take it one step at a time…start with the 180.”

Celia also rides for, Never Summer boards, Pow Gloves, Smith Optics, and Broadcast Snowboard Shop. Keep your eyeballs peeled cause this girl has some big things poppin’ fo’ sho’.

We welcome Celia to the team with all our support and warn you to watch out for her. She is a slayer!

Check Out The Hotties!!!

Here at BETTY rides there are few things we enjoy more than powder slashies and sunny spring days. However, cute boys and Lil’ Wayne are a close second.

While everyone and their brother went to June Mountain for Grenade Games; we were in Portland and had a chance to catch up with certified Betty hottie Benny Hernreich.

How does one become a certified BETTY hottie you ask? Well, first of all you have to be super cute and really nice. We don’t like rude guys. Snowboarding is not a requirement but a talent of some sort is always good. Ben has been playing guitar for four days and can already bang out some sweet melodies-wow, this earned him some hottie points for sure. Lastly, be charming. They say you can’t get through life on a smile but you can make it to BETTY hottie status with one. Once all factors have been considered the board of Hotties votes yea or nae.

Benny in the field, gets yeas all around!

We found Benny Boi at the tail end of a busy winter schedule and fresh off his debut video cameo release in Lil’ Wayne’s new video for “Lollipop“. Of his relationship with Wayne he says, “He bought me these jeans, I haven’t changed them in seven days.”

Helen Gets a New Pup and Six Feet Of Snow In Brighton

We would like to congratulate Helen Wade on the newest addition to her family!

…a Boston terrier named Cash; named after the legend himself, Mr. Johnny cash. She says “He is the size of a large Hamster has a white head with a black eye patch and is pretty amazing.” Cash is not Helen’s first pup. He has his big brother Biggem smalls, also a Boston Terrier.

This is Helen with Biggems! So cute…awwww

Despite her Hectic schedule with the pups, Helen is managing to get some riding in. Brighton got six feet of new snow! (Jealous…)

BETTY Rides Looking for Summer Intern!

Ahh, the air is getting warmer and the sun is peaking out. Summer is almost upon us. WE have been enjoying the sunshine and slush up at Mt. Hood. Just as we are getting ready for next year and planning the new line of gorgeous ride wear, the last of our dynamic euro intern team, Jeremie, is leaving us.

Snowboard Camp at The Summit

 

BETTY Rides and The Summit at Snoqualmie hosted our all girls snowboard camp.  The camp was two days.  All campers reported to the mountain Saturday and got into groups and headed out to work on their skills. 

Randa Shahin spent time with the girls in the park showing them what’s up on the boxes and rails.  The Summit Learning Center’s instructor, Laticia spent the afternoon with her girls under the Silver Fir lift finding new tree lines and that night took the BETTY crew to have dinner at the legendary Pancake house.  

Sunday morning brought more of the same. 

Girls riding together, shredding the park and keeping the love alive. We had a blast and can’t wait to do it again next year!! Thank you to the Snoqualmie love’s of our life, Brian, Jenna, Laticia, Anat, and Grace

 

Randa wins at Mt. Hood Meadows!

Mt. Hood Meadows and Bonfire hosted VEGETATE.  Of course both days it was puking snow with only a few sun breaks on Sunday. The competitors still in good spirits on Sunday; showed to hike the 60 foot kink box, double C’s and wall rides. After two full days of nose-tail press, nollie; front board, back board, front board 2 7 out; tail slappy, nose grabby, face landy, backflip, skier rack sickness; BETTY rides proved to be fully represented by our homegirl Randa Shahin who took 2nd in rails. Congratulations Randa!
