Last Friday was extra special for the Betty Girls as there was a rail jam right in the heart of downtown Portland; it was the Cricket Wireless Campus Rail Jam Tour Final’s in Pioneer’s square to be exact. Our girl Randa was there riding in the event as she had qualified by winning the event, the week before.
We mos def have a special place in our heart for Randa’s shred style, but there were a lot of girls who had it going on….check out what the hot chicks are wearing!

So all all week we have been wearing outfits to try and catch some of their flair-oh yeah. But seriously the real joy came from watching these girls kill and slay the rails cricket had laid before them. Its too bad for the guys that had to go after them because they tore that up!

Spring is here and with that comes 90 degree days in Portland. Lucky for us we have rail jams and lemonade to cool our sweaty bodies down.
While looking for said events, we happened upon a rail jam put on by Grom Shop in Gresham Oregon. This is where we spotted our new favorite rider slaying some boxes and skimming some pond.
His name is Keegan. He was the youngest competitor there that day and he took third!!! We feel that he is a first place slayer!
Are you curious yet as to what the action looked like that day?
He just missed the box but got the pond skim instead-nice!
Keep up the most excellent shredding Keegan!

We were so excited when we received a call on Monday from Yulin Wu. She used to ride for us, and now is spicing things up as the Marketing Manager at Fuel TV (yeah, we were impressed too). She called to tell us she would be in Portland for the afternoon before heading up to Timberline Lodge. Of Course we had to see her and get some new gear on the girl!
We took her to check out the 08/09 line….
Yulin liked the Day Dream collection, but she loved…
…the Window Pane Collection. She said, “It’s just so unique.” We set her up with the Window Pane Ivy Parka In Lime (pictured above) and the Window Pane Rocker Pant in Coffee. The rocker pants get cuter and better fitting every year! I kid you not; she looked so cute one of the girls tried to take a bite out of her! Gees-calm down!
After dress up we went for drinks and found out Yulin also just got married! Congratulations from all the girls at BETTY rides!!!!

We guess you could say try to say goodbye to winter even though he isn’t really tryin’ to hear that mess. Winter is in yo’ face this year. Winter came, partied, finished the keg, drew on that passed out guy with his shoes on, didn’t leave when you passed out and was having a coffee with your mom the next morning when you woke up.
Places like Government Camp are still reporting having 380% more snow than usual present. Not exactly ramp building weather.
Seriously though. We were not complaining about powder days in April.
Even with all this snow many resorts still closed on time. Personally we feel that is much like asking the ROME boys to take it easy on the shred. Not really fair.
So What are you meant to do while you watch as the snow slowly melts and you cant snowboard? Here are a few ideas from the girls of BETTY.
1. Start a team or special club. we are on several teams, Like Team Awesome.
to do this first you will need a really good name…Like “Team Radz” note: z’s always make things a lot cooler
Then you should make some shirts or something nice like this guy
2. Go on Extreme Walks (soap shoes not necessary)
To do this you be extreme while you are walking. Or walk in extreme places.

3. Hang Out With Your Mom.
You know she is the momma bear and you are her Bear cub, hang out in the den over some honey.
Well that should keep you Busy for a while…

There comes a time in every snowboarder’s life that they ask this question.
So, Where does your outerwear come from?
the answer is simple…the stoke brings it from China.
This is a stoke. I don’t know why but they all wear white glasses and bandannas
Well, OK, maybe the answer is not that simple. We think it goes something like this….
Broken hearted designers decide they are over their old line. They are ready to move on and get back in the scene. No more lonely nights at home with empty pints of ice cream and E! News…They cant hide away forever!
So these designers start going out to places where they will find new and exciting fabrics and trims…Like local hot spot, Fabric depot.
That is where I caught up with the BETTY team checking out some young hot plaids…
I don’t know whats up with that pug faced girl…she is weird…
When the designer finds a really cute (preferable short and brown haired) fabric she likes they have what is known as a relationship. Over time this relationship deepens, and after they have talked about all there wants, needs and safety options and are sure they really trust and love each other something very special happens….they do it and a prototype jacket comes out!
With many revisions and fittings and good nutrition this jacket will one day become a production sample and shipped to stores to be sold.
We know what you’re thinking…I totally get it now.
